Barbatul de fier. The Iron Man

Ted Hughes – unul dintre cei mai mari poeti de limba engleza ai secolului trecut – scrie o poveste aparte si densa ca o poezie; in parte istorioara fantasy, menita initial propriilor copii, in parte naratiune SF, acest basm modern a fost publicat in milioane de exemplare.

„Considerata una dintre cele mai mari povestiri moderne.” – The Observer

„Hughes n-a scris niciodata mai convingator de-atat.” – The Times

Nobody knows where the frightening iron giant came from, that is now eating their tractors, their plows, their cars, and making a mess of their lives, and so people are suddenly scared and, having decided to get rid of him, they bury him deep at the foot of a hill, covering him with earth. But the giant will not stay buried for long and gets out just in time to save the world from the space-bat-angel-dragon, a monster from outer space, threatening to destroy the planet.

Ted Hughes, one of the greatest English language poets of the last century, writes a unique story, as dense as a poem; partly a fantasy tale, originally written for his own children, and party a sci-fi one, this modern fairy tale

„Reckoned one of the greatest of modern fairy tales.” – The Observer

„Hughes has never written more compellingly… with linguistic tact and imaginative power to achieve something of possible enduring consequence.” – The Times
